Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced L2 and L3 Support Engineer with a strong background in Windows Server administration and Azure cloud services. The role involves providing second-line technical support, incident resolution, and infrastructure operations for a hybrid IT environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide L2 and L3 support for Windows Server (all available from 2000- Latest) and client environments
- Troubleshoot and provide technical analysis concerning operating system, hardware, network & storage related issues on windows servers and application performance issues to resolution
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents related to Azure VMs, storage, networking, and resource access
- Work on Azure related issues and troubleshoot/resolve as required
- Provisioning, configuring, and monitoring Azure virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components.
- Oversee Azure Compute Services, including Virtual Machines, App Services, and Container Instances.
- Implementing security measures and managing access controls in Azure.
- Performing regular backups and implementing disaster recovery strategies for Azure resources.
- Designing, building, and scaling cloud infrastructure based on client needs.
- Ensuring cloud infrastructure and applications are optimized for performance, scalability, and security.
- Implement and manage networking solutions, including Virtual Networks, Network Security Groups, and VPN gateways.
- Perform routine health checks, patching, and system monitoring
- Develop infrastructure as code leveraging cloud native tooling to ensure automated and consistent platform deployments
- Develop and implement policy driven data protection best practices to ensure cloud solutions are protected from data loss
- Support cloud adoption of applications as they are being transformed and/or modernized
- Ensure all infrastructure components meet proper performance and capacity standards
- Stay up to date with Azure services and best practices, recommending improvements to enhance infrastructure efficiency and security
- Experience managing Azure VDIs
- Maintain and support backup solutions (Azure Backup, Veeam, etc.)
- To proactively manage all issues raised as problems and perform root cause analysis where requested
- Create and update technical documentation and standard operating procedures
- Action on alerts forwarded by the NOC team
- Coordinate with other teams and work with them to resolve the issues.
- Support compliance and security initiatives (patch compliance, antivirus, audit readiness)
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations
- Work on various projects and implementations as and when required.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Wintel and cloud infrastructure support
- Proficient in Windows Server troubleshooting, AD, DNS, DHCP
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure services (VMs, Resource Groups, Azure AD)
- Experience with basic PowerShell scripting for automation and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with ticketing tools (ServiceNow, Remedy, etc.)
- Understanding of networking basics and firewall rules
- Service Now ticketing system knowledge
Preferred Qualifications
- Microsoft Certified: Azure Fundamentals or Azure Administrator Associate
- Experience in ITIL-based environments
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Good problem-solving skills
